take the guesswork out of health-related behavior change

As a clinical psychologist and behavior change expert, JoAnne Epping-Jordan, PhD knows how to make significant and lasting changes in the attitudes and actions of others.  Building on scientifically-proven principles of behavior change, Dr Epping-Jordan has designed and implemented a range of innovative programmes to shape targeted groups' beliefs and behaviors around different health issues.

Dr Epping-Jordan led the World Health Organization's global initiatives on improving health care for chronic conditions from 2002 to 2005, and on advocacy and communications for chronic diseases and health promotion from 2005 to 2007.  She is a recognized international leader in chronic disease prevention and management, and is respected by leaders in the field - from the USA to Europe to many developing countries - who seek her advice and counsel at a time when chronic diseases are emerging as the dominant challenge to health systems.

Dr Epping-Jordan's work has influenced patients, health care providers, policy-makers and other health leaders in ways that were previously considered to be impossible.  For example, she transformed international thinking about the importance of chronic diseases as part of the global health agenda, and led the development and global dissemination of a new model that outlines the essential components of an effective healthcare delivery system for chronic disease prevention and management.

Working now as an independent health consultant, Dr Epping-Jordan takes the guesswork out of health-related behavior change for her clients. She designs and implements innovative strategies to:

  • communicate health-related information in compelling and effective ways
  • motivate and equip targeted groups to take action
  • improve the health behavior of individuals and populations alike
  • transform health care delivery systems for better outcomes
